Who can overlook the grand looming facade of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel topped with its old-fashioned red neon signage? A totem to Hollywood’s glamourous celebrity culture, the building, located at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard near Orange, has housed the likes of Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and Carole Lombard. It was even the birthplace of the Academy Awards. So, for all intents and purposes it's our Empire State Building. Constructed in 1927, it boasts such features as the Marilyn Monroe Suite, poolside cabanas and the Gable & Lombard Penthouse. Revamped by designer Dodd Mitchell in 2005, it retains its classic mystique with nods to today’s Young Hollywood.
