Ferndell, which is part of Griffith Park, is just off Los Feliz Blvd. It's located near the Western Canyon entrance of the park. Its narrow trail is arguably one of the most charming and lush in the area and will take you through stream areas with hanging plants and over little bridges. The meandering area is home to over 50 fern species.

This trail may take about a half an hour, depending on your pace. All dogs should always be kept on-leash unless a sign specifies otherwise. Jula warns that ticketing for off-leash walking is becoming increasingly common. It is especially important here because lots of families with small children navigate this trail and kids are sometimes frightened by dogs running around corners. Jula also recommends this trail for more mild-mannered (not high-energy) pets due to its slender set-up.
