If you have a dog and live in one of LA's East Side neighborhoods like Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Echo Park or Elysian Park, chances are good that you may have heard of Dog Camp LA and its team of dog walkers. Nestled in the hills of Silver Lake, DCLA is an all-purpose dog care hub whose services include socialization trips, pet transportation, in-home care and of course dog hikes and walks.
Beyond Carmel, Silver Lake has been dubbed 'the dog capital of America' by many locals. This may be due in part to LA's fantastic weather, and some of the great dog-friendly natural terrain that the East Side neighborhood offers. So, who better to navigate us through a tour of popular East Side dog walking spots than Dog Camp LA founder Jula Bell?
On a perfect, typically mild and sunny day, Jula leashes her Boston Terrier Merv, and one of his best pals, a Dog Camp regular named Leroy. Both, she says, are well-behaved, which is a plus for a pleasant, stress-free walk. No need for Cesar Milan The Dog Whisperer here (though Jula has apparently worked with him before).
