Ronni Chasen, an A-list Hollywood publicist had just been seen in attendance at the movie premiere of Burlesque on the eve of her murder. What happened next is a tragic enigma.
On November 16th, 2010, police arrived at the scene at Sunset Blvd. and Whittier in Beverly Hills to find Chasen in and out of consciousness in her black Mercedes Benz which had crashed into a light pole. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds in her chest. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police had a "person of interest" lead but the man in question (Harold Martin Smith) shot himself dead in front of the Beverly Hills Police Department when they were investigating the apartment in which he was living. The case remains officially unsolved.
