Los Angeles technically does not have a 'downtown' in the way other cities like New York do. While it is a lively arts, garment and commerce area, Downtown LA is not the center of the sprawling city of Los Angeles. The area is bordered by Exposition Blvd. and Exposition Park in the South, the 110 Harbor Freeway in the West, the 101 Freeway in the North, and the Los Angeles River in the East The general Downtown area consists of neighborhood pockets of Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Bunker Hill, Skid Row, the Financial District, Gallery Row and Union Station.
