If you're a California dreamer of the Steinbeck variety and you're hooked on the Golden State dream, Calamigos Ranch may be your perfect wedding destination. Established in 1947, it is situated on 130 acres of Malibu wine country. There is a sense of family heritage and tradition at this destination, which is run by the son of the original owners (Grant and Helen Walter Gerson) and his wife.
Calamigos boasts four privately accessed locations accommodating 75 to 500 guests. In addition, their full service staff is on-hand: a personal chef, culinary crew, pro wait staff, private valet and professional on-site coordinator.

There are views... and then there are views! Yamashiro Restaurant, perched up in the hills above Hollywood, is well-known for its jaw-dropping vistas. That is one of its biggest draws as a wedding location. The Cal Asian eatery is surrounded by manicured gardens and offers customized menus, bride and groom suites and hands-on wedding coordination.

How many little girls dreamed of marrying Prince Charming and living happily ever after in a castle? Many of these royal homes exist in Scotland but not everyone can jump across the pond for a wedding. Thankfully, Denise Antico-Donlon's inspiration (after a trip to Scotland) manifested in Lobo Castle, the next best thing.
Situated in Lobo, east of Calabasas, the unique venue is available for rental year-round, Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Add-ons include an in-house catering service, and dance floor rental. The castle is only available for viewings by appointment.

As the cliché goes, women go wild over wedding planning, whilst their would-be husbands duck out for a cigar and avoid such ceremonial details. This is of course not the case if you're getting married at the Petersen Automotive Museum. The idea of saying 'I do' in front of his favorite classic car is certain to get the groom all revved up.
Petersen works with a host of preferred suppliers including caterers Patina, and Pie & Burger, as well as photographers and DJs.

Stage your magnum opus--a.k.a. the most important day of your life--at the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Beyond the gorgeous views of LA and architecture by famed starchitect Frank Gehry, Patina's well-reputed catering services won't disappoint. You can even preview sample menus on Patina's website in advance of meeting your coordinator.

Is it 'Geek Love?' If so, why not say your vows surrounded by life-sized dinosaurs and hummingbirds in flight? The Natural History Museum is a unique, quirky and unforgettable place to have a wedding. Spaces include the classical Rotunda, the Grand Foyer, and the Mammal Halls with their dramatic tableaux.
Rentals take place between 6 and 11 p.m. and include a one year VIP Fellows-level membership to the museum (and the Page Museum and William S. Hart Museum), private dressing rooms, a wedding rehearsal, and use of non-event galleries for wedding photography.

Greystone is the movie star of wedding destinations, as it's literally been the location of many a film shoot. Built in 1928, the stellar 18.5 pastoral acre property is, like Cary Grant, a classic. The Tudor-style manor with its lovely English gardens is also known as the 'Doheny Mansion,' as it was once home to the Doheny family (whose name graces the street).
Settings on this luxurious property include a pool area, an inner courtyard, formal gardens (for ceremonies only) and a terrace. Ask for their slightly reduced rates available to residents only.

Like the Doheny/Greystone Mansion, the Adamson House was--as the name implies--once a private residence. It's one of my favorite local sites to check out when you're side-tracking from a chill day at the beach.
Located in Malibu closeby to Santa Monica, the home was built in 1930 and features some lovely Malibu tyle-work along with relaxed and dreamy outdoor beach-side spaces. A friend of mine got married here and mentioned that like many wedding destinations, it books up far in advance (as the prices are fairly reasonable for the spectacular location), so if interested, book this little gem sooner than later.
Make history twice! Celebrate your own personal historic day at a historical museum. Heritage Square's mission is to present the history of Southern California's settlement and development during its first 100 years of statehood.
Its flower gardens, heritage buildings and architectural details make a beautiful setting for a truly romantic, and authentically So.Cal wedding experience.
