KCRW's World Festival: ¡VIVA MEXICO!

When: Sep. 19, 7 p.m.

Where: Hollywood Bowl

What: In its 12th year, this collaborative event between KCRW and the Hollywood Bowl has showcased amazing artists from all over the world on six Sundays through September. This last show hosted by DJ Raul Campos features Ozomatli, Mexican Institute Of Sound and Mariachi Reyna De Los Angeles. 

9th Annual Precious® Cheese Italian Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles

When: Sep. 24-26, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

Where: 1651 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood

What: This event celebrating Italian culture was inspired by New York's oldest, largest street festival (San Gennaro). Co-founders Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel will lord over the food, music, rides, games and more. General admission is $5. Kids 12 and under enter for free.

Symphonic Jazz Orchestra

When: Sep. 25, 8 p.m.

Where: Royce Hall, UCLA, Westwood

What: Catch the 67-person ensemble--the only in this country dedicated to this genre of symphonic jazz. Blending American jazz with European orchestration, the ensemble will be conducted by Mitch Glickman and include guests like George Duke and Luciana Souza.

Abbot Kinney Festival

When: Sep. 26, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Where: Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice

What: The 26th annual Abbot Kinney Festival showcases over 100 local businesses on Venice’s central boulevard. The vibe is mostly environmentally conscious, health-oriented, animal-friendly, arty and great for families and people who enjoy outdoor activities.

The LA County Fair

When: Sep. 4-Oct. 3

Where: Fairplex in Pomona

What: This rustic annual event offers fun for the whole family and a break from LA city life. Pet farm animals, listen to music and watch Clydesdale horses perform.

LA Kings Hockey Pre-Season Games

Los Angeles Irish Film Festival

What: This young film festival is only in its second year. It celebrates the Irish passion for story telling in film and the culture’s ancient heritage through film.

Fallen Fruit Presents EATLACMA

When: Through November 11

Where: Los Angeles County Museum of Art

What: A year-long investigation into food, art, politics and culture, EATLACMA is a collaborative project between LACMA and Fallen Fruit. As part of it, artists gardens are planted and harvested at the museum while hands-on public events take place. The entire work culminates in a day-long event in November through which over 50 artists and collectives re-imagine the museum and its galleries.
