Some people think that wine and cheese are the best pairing. The folks at Rock 'n Roll Wine believe that 'vino' mixes best with rock music, in a nightlife venue. Originally started in Las Vegas, Rock 'n Roll Wine has brought its lively wine tasting events to cities like Los Angeles where they've become quite popular. A far cry from stuffy, formal wine tastings, the events are held at rotating night clubs and feature various red, white and rosé wines (including Rock 'n Roll Wine's house label) paired with DJs and musical artists. They're wine tasting with a nightlife twist, so you don't need to be an expert to attend; just a wine enthusiast with a taste for live music and dancing.
Wine Tastings That Make You Want to Get Up and Dance
The Rock 'n Roll Wine tasting experience is really like no other. For the tasting I attended, several tables were framed around the dance floor (which was in front of a stage). The pace was fast like the dance music playing in the background. We moved from table to table quite quickly but always had something to talk about with other attendees. Wine is a great ice-breaker. The live music is fun, though it definitely changes the mood of the tasting from interactive to more of a spectator sport. Rock 'n Roll Wine sometimes features regular residencies, although many of their events pop up sporadically. Check their site for up-to-date details.
