What are the sexiest restaurants in LA for great dinners in sensuous, dimly lit spots with decadent food?
Il Grano in West Hollywood has amazing Italian food and great wine. The atmosphere is great and it's dimly lit and romantic .... not to mention the wine list is spectacular and the staff is very knowledgeable about what wines to share with what meals. You can get a really decadent meal there or just go with a cheaper pizza, which is neat.
Boneyard Bistro in Sherman oaks is probably my absolute favorite restaurant in LA. It's a gourmet barbecue place with the best meat I've ever eaten in my life.
When I first moved to LA I was one of those ... I eat mostly veggies and sometimes chicken type of girls, and this restaurant totally brought out the carnivore in me. Unfortunately I'm usually in a major food coma when I leave this place and have gone on dates there and basically passed out in the car on the way home from being so full.
What's the sexiest LA date you've ever gone on?
My best date was a time I went to Hugo's Tacos, an outdoor taco stand in Studio City, in the rain. It was pouring out so there was barely anyone there and me and my date scarfed down tacos, shared some soggy chips and salsa, and made out in the rain. For some reason, it was incredibly romantic.
Any sexy public spots to recommend for our more adventurous readers?
For a good view, there is a lookout point somewhere around Pasadena up in the hills. I forget what it's called. You can see all of LA from it. It's pretty awesome. I almost had sex with someone there but...I saw that two adolescent kids were getting it on in the car right next to mine.
What are your picks for sexy bar/lounge spots where the beautiful, hot people cut loose?
Beauty Bar on Cahuenga in Hollywood is the best place to go if you're looking for a night of fun. It feels like a local bar and a big club all in one. It's free to get in. It's right in the middle of everything, there's good music and usually a good mix of people. It's near a lot of other bars so it's a good place to start your night and easily get to other places.
Which bar makes the sexiest cocktail in LA?
I don't really drink that often. I'm driving a lot, and cocktails and driving don't really mix. I did have an amazing Martini at the bar in the Standard Hotel in Downtown. It had just the right amount of everything in it!
Is LA more of a town for singles, families or couples?
LA is best for single career-driven people and couples. If you move here with no ambition and no plans its going to be hard to meet people. But if you move here to make it in whatever field you are in, you're going to meet some amazing people along the way...and have sex with a good portion of them!
People often say LA has a reputation as a 'sex town.' Do you agree?
Yes, I can see why people call LA a sex town. People don't move to LA to settle down and have a family and be barefoot and pregnant at the age of 22. People come to LA most often for all the career opportunities there are here ... and that takes precedence over having babies and stuff. So with that said, people "date" until they are in their late 40s. And dating is really just a politically correct term for *sleeping with* lots of people.
If you were going to give advice to someone single who had just moved to LA and was interested in having some fun here what would you tell them?
If you just moved here and you're single, I would say this is a city where people really love mingling with people who are somewhat within their field of work. This is not a good city to live in if you're not driven and ambitious. So, look into events and parties that cater to people who are in your field.
Be as social as you can and don't limit yourself to just going out and looking for people to have sex with. Make some new friends, meet their friends, etc. Also don't limit yourself to bars. You can always go to book stores, cafes, restaurants, etc. It's a big city but you can find anything or anyone if you look for it.
