What: This large scale fashion event kicks off with a VIP and media opening reception followed by five days of runway shows, red carpet arrivals, product launches, gifting suites, performances and designer showcases. Internationally recognized, the event has in the past acted as a platform for the work of designers like Vivienne Westwood, Oscar de La Renta, Badgley Mischka, Chanel, and Sergio Rossi, to name a few. This year's Style Fashion Week wraps up with an after-party at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, and a performance by a special guest celebrity DJ (TBA).

Where: LA Fashion District
What: Relatively new on the scene, this LA-based fashion forum focuses on "big ideas and dreams" as conceived in the showrooms and marts of the LA Fashion District in Downtown. The program at the conference (staged in a former perfumery) emphasizes disruptive thinking, from social commerce psychology to product design. Speakers include street style bloggers, trend forecasters and online fashion retailer pioneers, among others.

Where: Avalon Hollywood
What: Project Ethos events typically feature fashion, live performance and art under one roof with an invite list including buyers, stylists, members of the press, curators and consumers. Their Fashion Week party is sponsored by Scion and hair care partner Sebastian Professional. Tickets go on sale September 9th.
When: October 17, 8 p.m.
Where: Exchange LA, Downtown
What: A collaboration between designers, performers and trendsetters, Fashion Minga celebrates fashion's inspirations, such as music, dance and color. It typically takes place on LA Fashion Week's final day. Two-thousand guests are expected, including young and established designers, as well as dance teams and performers. This year's peforming artists include: DJ Rico Rox, NAMI, Lafia Crew, and Arthur Davis III. The event is 21 and over.
When: October 15, 6-9:30 p.m.
Where: Union Station, Downtown
What: This fundraising event, hosted by Fashion Business Incorporated will feature runway presentations of a variety of fashion labels, and the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator (MAFI) Award presentation. General admission tickets are $50 with FBI members paying $25. The event begins with a cocktail reception and is followed by a runway show.
When: October 14-15
Where: California Market Center, Downtown
What: A little something for the gents... LA Men's Fashion Week is the fifth major Men's Fashion Week in the world. The event will draw an audience of menswear editors, menswear media and press, bloggers, menswear buyers, stylists, and menswear fashion influencers and enthusiasts. Where: Sunset Gower Studios
What: This three-day event showcases notable designers within the industry and includes runway shows, and presentations of high level brands, products and services. It promises a top-tier guest list and presents those guests with LA's unique take on fashion, entertainment and lifestyle.
