Sixties Pop Rock Band The Monkees in Laurel Canyon Los Angeles

Although it may not be obvious to every Angelino, '60s pop band The Monkees played a pivotal part in the LA music scene--centered in Laurel Canyon--back in the day.

Band members Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork lived in Laurel Canyon. Tork's place on Willow Glen was notorious for its out-of-hand 'Monkees parties'--Bachanals for rock royalty the likes of Jimi Hendrix.

And the boys are back--well at least in So.Cal, performing at the Long Beach Convention Center tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13th at 8 p.m. on their A Midsummer's Night With The Monkees tour.

Doors will open at 8 p.m. Whether you take the Long Beach Freeway or the 'last train to Clarksville,' be there!
