I was very excited that cool, fringe LA artist Jena Cardwell made time for an About.com interview.
She hails from Highland Park and was entrenched in the seminal LA punk scene of The Germs and Rodney on the Roq. Her work reflects that alternative and fantasy-esque sensibility that's so familiar to me as a native Angeleno who has always loved the punk and glam scenes.
In any case, Cardwell has returned to her roots in Highland Park after a decades-long stint in Hollywood. And, she'll get to celebrate this with her show at Finster Studio opening on December 8th (it's part of the North East LA Art Walk, or NELA).
