I love me a good retro psychedelic band (as is evidenced by much of my music content on About LA). Styley local rockers Allah-Las are no exception.
If you're comforted by the fact that there are still old hippies in ramshackle mansions living in Laurel Canyon and can't get enough of the o.g. sounds of this hillside musical pocket, tune into KCRW on Wednesday November 21st at 11:15 a.m. for an on-air performance by the aforementioned band (clearly a descendent of o.g. L.C.).
British newspaper The Guardian has described their sound as: "the raw, dark energy of the Crawdaddy Club mingling with the sun-kissed spirit of California, equal parts swinging London and Sunset Strip."
The LA-based foursome got their start working at Amoeba in Hollywood and now they're touring all over the place and getting muh buzz.
