What could possibly be trippier than a conversation between writer/producer David Milch (Deadwood, John From Cincinnati, Luck) and best-selling author Oliver Sacks (The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat)?
If the psychedelics of the human mind get your motor (or motor neurons) running, you won't want to miss 'Live Talks Los Angeles: An Evening with Oliver Sacks in Conversation With David Milch' on Wednesday, November 14th at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica.
The event will be timed around the release of Sacks' latest book Hallucinations (on November 6th). Knowing the neurologist/scribe, it will surely be provocative and spooky, as it offers a glimpse into the world of real life hallucinations. These include bereaved who receive 'visits' from the departed, the feeling of leaving one's body, and hallucinations that lead to religious epiphanies.
The starts at 8 p.m. Prior to that, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. a reception will take place. General tickets are $20.
