Beer and Octoberfest in LA

LA's official Oktoberfest, a celebration of everything German and beer related, isn't until the third week of October, but things are already getting celebratory in watering holes and pubs around town.

In honor of the annual teutonic beer-a-thon, Simmzy's, a pub in Long Beach, has been hosting special beer events and tastings. The next one, an 'Epic Brewing Tap Takeover and Cask Night' takes place on Monday, October 15th at 5 p.m.

The venue promises an evening of talking shop with a rep from Epic. Attendees will get to know the six drafts on deck: Brainless Belgian Nitro, Brainless on Cherries, Brainless Corruption, Big Bad Baptist, Hopulent Pro Am, and Copper Cone Pale Ale. A so-called 'mystery cask' will also be unveiled.

For more information on Oktoberfest and other events taking place this month in Los Angeles see the October Events in LA article.
