First there was Carmageddon (soon to be Carmageddon II) -- and of course there's always that looming fear-mongering Armageddon thing.
Now, over 200 LA artists and arts organizations have joined forces to bring the 'alpha and omega' of art initiatives to LA: ARTmageddon.
Taking place this Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th (during Carmageddon II), this citywide happening celebrates "prolific and inspiring art happening all over Los Angeles." The initiative's purported purpose is to encourage people in LA to walk, bike and Metro to art in their neighborhoods.
To facilitate discovery and manoeuvering around to different events and openings, the organizers have set up a website: ARTmageddonLA.com. There you can find comprehensive listings for arts and cultural happenings all over LA.
So, this weekend, don't just sit there containing your creative urges. Find an event and/or openings on your home turf and celebrate the end of (non-creative) time.
