The dance aspects of orchestral music will be celebrated at this year's LA Philharmonic Opening Night Gala.
On Thursday, September 27th, Gustavo Dudamel leads the LA Phil in a seasonal debut concert and gala: The Philharmonic Dances.
Presented in collaboration with Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center, the launch evening performance at the Disney Concert Hall includes selections from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, danced by American Ballet Theatre stars Roberto Bolle and Veronika Part, and a suite from Leonard Bernstein's On the Town, performed by a corps of Broadway dancers.
The dance and philharmonic concert opens with a pre-concert cocktail reception at 6 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. Dinner and dancing will follow. Tickets for this special event cost $108-$164.
