Long ago, in towns that were pretty far away, washboard were used for more than washing, and musicians kicked up their share of dust.
This month, the LA County Arts Commission and the Ford Amphitheatre will bring you and your family back to those thumpin '30s with a special performance by Venice-based roots and jazz collective The Dustbowl Revival.
The show--which showcases gospel, jug-band and old school bluegrass music on trombone, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, kazoo and other rootsy instruments--takes place on August 25th at 10 a.m. at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Feliz.
Children aged four to ten enter for free. Tickets for adults cost $5. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
