They are women, hear them roar! They being Vox Femina, a Los Angeles chorus made up of diverse women of different cultures, ages, races, beliefs, and sexual identities.
These vocal and melodic ladies will conclude their 15th anniversary season on Saturday, June 16th with 'Celebrating the Muse,' a summer concert celebration of music that has inspired them through the years.
In 1997, the newly formed Vox Femina stood in front of a group of 150 supporters from the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and got the performers' stamp of approval: a standing ovation. And with that, they were on their way.
The Vox Femina celebratory performance, which starts at 8 p.m. will take place at the Zipper Concert Hall in the Colburn School of Music in Downtown LA. Tickets range from $25 to $30 presale, and cost $35 at the door.
In case you miss the show, there will be another performance on Sunday, June 17th at Congregation Kol Ami (1200 N. La Brea) in West Hollywood.
