The West Coast has its share of contemporary psych rock roots from bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre to The Dandy Warhols.
I have to admit that beyond the aforementioned, and local LA bands like Spindrift, I don't have a huge knowledge of Mid-Western psych rock.
So I was glad to get a heads up about such a band from Chicago spreading its mind-melting musical messages to Angelenos. Secret Colours will be popping into The Satellite in Silver Lake on Saturday, June 16 for a show with Sarah Jaffe.
The band released its eponymous debut in the summer of 2010, and does a cover of The Beatles tune 'Tomorrow Never Knows.'
The 21 and over LA show starts at 9 p.m. and costs $10 advance purchase; $12 at the door.
