Independent Bookseller Dawson's Books Closes Its Doors in LA

It is with a heavy heart that I report that another great independent bookstore in LA is closing its doors.

Though Dawson's Book Shop will remain active through Michael Dawson (who will sell books online and operate in person as a book and photo appraiser) the oldest bookstore in LA (around for 105 years) is closing its doors at its location at 535 N. Larchmont.

There will be a huge moving sale starting tomorrow (Saturday, August 7th) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., running through Saturday, August 21st.

Over 3000 titles will go on sale for up to 75% off. For all of you California history buffs: historic photos and regional ephemera will also be marked down.

You will not want to miss out on the opportunity to buy these books...as the next time I blog about books in LA, it may be to report that paper books no longer exist.
