Congratulations, Lakers!

What many had suspected is now official: the Los Angeles Lakers have won the 2009 NBA championships! It started as a quiet Sunday but it sure won't end that way. Much of the city will be out (or in) celebrating this amazing victory against the Orlando Magic. A lot of people will be headed to (or already at) their local sports bar or pub--from Sonny McLean's in Santa Monica to the Cabo Cantina on the Sunset Strip.

Mayor Villaraigosa is promising a parade for our team. Of course that's all going to depend on funds (which we're obviously low on). But the mayor believes he can secure some through private donations. Stay tuned for a joyous week in LA as everyone's spirits continue to be lifted. Thanks, Lakers.
